AM Project Schedule
AM radio is seeing a significant new
level of interest by a new generation of broadcasters. As broadcasters find the
saturation of many medium sized markets with FM stations, they’ve turned to the
older AM band as an answer to their entry into the market.
AM radio stations now have many of
their coverage and interference problems resolved through better transmitting
equipment. Actually, AM is now able to rival the high quality sound of well
equipped FM’s. Many issues, including population phobias related to AM are
largely behind us. “Talk Radio” is just one way AM has been brought into a new
popular revival.
If you think AM may be your best
opportunity for the market you wish to seek, we are ready to help.
AM stations are filed on an “as
needed” basis. This gives them similarities to the Non-Commercial & Commercial
FM Project Schedules. For details of each step please review the FM
Project Schedules.
Steps are summarized briefly as
follows:
Step 1 - Frequency Search*
Step 2 - Application Filing*
Step 3 - Auction Process (if you have competitors)
Step 4 - Construction Permit is awarded and you may now proceed with
building the station.
Step 5 - License. Construction and testing are completed and required
paperwork is filed with the FCC for license.
