To proceed with
an AM Frequency Search of the community listed above, please
complete the bottom portion of this form with complete
contact information.
We will perform
the Frequency Search using the most recent FCC information
and your search will have the latest available technical
information.
Please include
any additional information that would help us to complete
your search. Information such as the proposed site for the
tower(s), studio location, and the markets you wish to cover
(list cities), will help us serve you better.
The completed
study will include maps showing coverage, station power,
tower height and the amount of land needed, suggested tower
sites, population totals for coverage area, and night-time
coverage.
Using the
geographic coordinates of your site or the reference point
of your city, we will determine the exact distance to the
nearest station or assignment on each frequency. All of the
stations and assignments listed in the FCC files will be
considered in the
preparation of the study.
Where no channel
is directly open, as often happens in searches in populated
areas, we carefully inspect the study results to determine
whether there are channels on which you might operate
either:
(1) by using a
different transmitter site (these studies begin
by a printout of all involved stations and an analysis to
determine
in what, if any, direction we may move your site to escape
the
preclusion), or, if you specify;
(2) by performing additional searches in an attempt to
provide
alternate channels for the stations which block your use
of the
desired channel.
An engineering
analysis of the results and our recommendation will
accompany the study. The study will require approximately
four (4) weeks from receipt of your authorization. To
authorize a Frequency Allocation Study please sign this form
and return it to us with your check for $995.00.
The AM Frequency
Search is Step 1 of several steps required to move closer to
putting your station on the air.
Steps are
summarized briefly as follows:
Step 1 -
Frequency Search
Step 2 - Application Filing
Step 3 - Auction Process (if you have competitors)
Step 4 - Construction Permit is awarded and you may now proceed with
building the station.
Step 5 - License. Construction and testing are completed and required
paperwork is filed with the FCC for license.
